: African Shades B&B offers modern comfort in an African decor. We have 6 funky, spacious en-suite rooms with excellent beds and pure cotton linen. Rooms are decorated with flair and an African touch. All rooms have a private entrance and patio. Tea tray, fan, fridge, hairdryer and TV in rooms. Swimming pool with mountain views and off-street parking available. African Shades has a beautifully designed African Art Shop with a colourful range of arts & crafts. We support several local and African artists by selling their handmade items. Many unique pieces, well worth a visit! Shaded under the large oak trees and overlooking the magnificent Langeberg mountains, African Shades Restaurant is the ideal place to stop over for a meal. With plenty of garden & outside stoep seating on offer for those long hot summer afternoons and a roaring fireplace inside for those chilli winter days. Our property is near the famous Drostdy museum in the historical heart of Swellendam.

All have en-suite bathrooms and private patios that look out at huge oak trees and the Drosdy museum. The green room offers the added luxury of a large, semi-sunken bath.
